Nelson Chardonnay 2009
The Nelson region has established a strong reputation for this classic variety producing many top award winning wines. The Richmond Plains chardonnay is an elegant wine made with a very light oak influence to showcase the fresh fruity flavours. It can be enjoyed on its own or with a wide variety of dishes. It’s particularly good with seafood and white meat dishes.
Our Chardonnay wine is an elegant minerally wine. Nicely chilled this wine is perfect with seafood and lighter meat and poultry dishes.
All Richmond Plains grapes are grown on our own vineyard. Both the growing of our grapes and winemaking are certified organic by BioGro New Zealand. We also run our vineyard with a full biodynamic program.
Nose: Attractive white peach, nectarine and citrus aromas.
Palate: Delicious ripe peach and nectarine flavours with a refreshing citrus finish and a subtle touch of oak.
Viticulture: Fruit for the Chardonnay is grown on vertical shoot position trellis and handpicked to ensure only the best fruit is harvested.
Winemaking: The hand picked fruit was gently whole bunch pressed. The juice was then transferred to French oak barrels and tank for fermentation. Wine lees was then stirred every two weeks to add texture and complexity.

"This is a little beauty. The nose is fragrant and beautifully ripe displaying stonefruit, pineapple and a hint of nutty characters. It's juicy and lush on the palate with a lovely rounded mouthfeel and refreshing acidity leading to a lingering crisp finish. Very easy on the palate showing plenty of tasty flavours.
